修學大乘的根本論典 有助於悟入中道實相
本論是印度的祖師無著菩薩根據《阿毗達磨大乘經》,並參考《般若經》、《華嚴經》、《辯中邊論》和《瑜伽師地論》,融合性相二宗,會歸而成的大乘佛法的修學法要。我們過去學習大乘經論都是局部性的,就是根據某一個重點來學習,所以必須透過很多的經論才能瞭解菩薩道的全貌。
雖然般若部的《大智度論》也有理論、修行、位次,另外《瑜伽師地論》也是非常完整的教法,但是這兩部論各有一百卷之多。 而本論只有十卷,無著菩薩以將近十分之一的文字,圓滿地收攝了大乘的信解行證,幫助我們悟入大乘的中道實相。 在理觀的地方,它深入地探討生命的真相,來建立我們的甚深見;在事修的時候,它廣泛地講到菩薩的六度,開展出自利利他的廣大行。 因此,它能夠引導我們完整地瞭解大乘教法的法義,正確地遵循大乘佛法的道次第,這一點非常殊勝難得。基於這個特色,內容的完整、次第的分明,本論在佛教史上,不管是在印度還是在中國,都被祖師們列為修學大乘的根本論典。
